Visiting Milan

In Milan we found great eats and fantastic fashions. We have much more to explore before deciding on our dream location, but what did you think of the city? Here is a recap of some of our favorite finds.

We started our journey during Milan fashion week where the runways caught our attention.

Then possibly unlike the models, we scoured foursquare for the best places to eat, followed by Salvator Dali’s return to Milan.

Some other notable events around the city…

Blake Lively and Nicole Richie fabsugar

Purple chiffon and black lace look stunning on Blake Lively. Keeping her jewelry simple and accessorizing with peep toe pumps made the dress the center of attention.  Slight ruffles along the shoulder line and a flirty cobalt skirt, from here own collection, show Nicole Richie in feminine perfection.

Australia's Next Top Model

Kelsey Martinovich, Sophie Van Den Akker, Sarah Murdoch and Amanda Ware from Australia’s Next Top Model look glamorously retro with lace details and perfectly nipped waistlines.

These were just a few of the beautiful people gracing Milan streets over the past few weeks. Stay tuned for more Milan Style.

Milan Fashion Week: Fave RTW Runway Looks

At Milan Fashion week there were a number of runway looks we fell in love with. We just couldn’t wait till Spring to take on these styles. So we took a few of our faves and reworked them to wear now!

Brioni Lace

Brioni Lace by Expat-Style featuring linen pants

Brioni’s Spring 2011 collection featured lace in a big way. We were intrigued with the way intricate lace became simple with a sleek pencil skirt. The style is reworked for fall with warm neutrals and a fur vest.

Aquilano.Rimondi technicolor for fall

Aquilano.Rimondi technicolor for fall by Expat-Style featuring a pink blazer

We’ve seen technicolor on a few runways, but appreciated the way this look from Aquilano.Rimondi was toned down with a pastel blazer.  To take it into fall we ditched the shorts for a knee length skirt and added charcoal tights.

Iceberg Runway reinterpreted

This Spring look from Iceberg is so simple it was easy to transition for fall. As much as we love the scarf, we decided to give you a shirt to wear instead.  We also swapped the trousers for jeans and added knee high boots making the look a little more casual.

These are just a few of the looks that caught our attention. Stay tuned for more news around Milan.
