We may be a little behind the times reporting on this collection, but in my defense, I was on a plane while the Chanel models were gracing the runway. After checking out the Chanel store on Avenue Montaigne I had to see what’s coming for Pre-Fall this year. As I noted at the beginning of December, all that glitters truly is gold!

The entire collection has a continuous gold thread featured in tops, trims, and fabrics.

From sleek to casual the trend continues.

Both of these dresses caught my attention for the intricate details. But the layered aubergine dress is my absolute favorite and I’ll be coveting this throughout the season. To get your Chanel fix now, check out these styles.

Another amazing show was at John Galliano’s runway for Fall 2011. Since this collection was based around ballet legend Rudolf Nureyev’s journey through life, it’s also fitting for Expat-Style. Here are a few of my favorites glimpses from the collection.

Galliano tells the story from him escaping Russia,

jet-setting in the 60′s,

training in the studio,

and finally hitting the stage.
It’s such a powerful story, told in style, we hope it inspires you in all your expat journey’s!

We had to cover the show at Bernhard Willhelm because a SHOW it was. Sometimes it’s a nice escape from traditional menswear to see some extravagant showmanship in a collection like this. Since words alone will not take you through this experience, let’s get right to the good stuff- the pictures!

From bold crayola to earth-tone naturals this collection has it all.

Earth-tone takes on a whole new meaning with an interpretation of the globe on a jacket.

A runway wasn’t needed for this collection, the styles were displayed with tulle umbrellas and other props that encompassed the designers vision. We can’t wait to check out Bernhard Willhelm for Spring 2012!

In Paris the Men’s RTW collections each have their own spin for Fall 2011. At Balenciaga the casual urban vibe was influenced by the mountain air.

Classic menswear pieces like peacoats and motorcycle jackets are updated with sherpa trims.

The transition was flawless to urban bomber jackets. Whether in bold colors or tonal shades, the looks meshed well together. Leather pants and sneakers seemed to thread everything together and keep the pieces casual.

While sweater knits make the looks perfect for fall and winter.
